How it counts

Pallet rack math, explained.

How many uprights do I need for a run of pallet racking?

One more than the number of bays. A single row of 4 bays needs 5 uprights; a back-to-back double row of 4 bays needs 10, joined with row spacers.

How many beams do I need?

Two beams per level per bay — a front and a back. Four bays with three beam levels need 24 beams per row.

How many pallets fit on a 96-inch beam?

Two standard 40″-wide pallets fit on a 96″ beam level. A 144″ beam holds three, and a 48″ beam holds one.

Does the calculator include delivery and installation?

No — it totals parts at our published prices. Delivery and installation are quoted per job; send your build to us and we'll include them.
